Clever when there is a lack of space, solid and resistant to corrosion (stainless steel), essential in a residence by the sea.

I needed to make appropriate use of the space near the American stove, where I was afraid to use a wooden shelf because it would dry out or catch fire. At the same time, the condition of using the narrow space was the possibility of periodic seasonal manual cleaning around the stove. That's why I bought two of these folding shelves. As a structural engineer by profession, I rate this folding shelf as very well constructed, with the exception of small details that the average customer will not notice. I appreciate: 1) Double bends in the lower surface of the shelf. 2) Sheet roll on the underside of the shelf. 3) Welds and their standard grinding on the underside of the shelf. 4) Custom turned spacers. I criticize: 1) The sharp, unground edges of the remaining stainless steel parts, especially the two drawn structural elements, which I had to dismantle and grind myself and then reassemble in order not to injure people when handling the shelf, i.e. about half an hour of work with one shelf in total , when you have a small home workshop. 2) It would be possible to shorten the olive cut by laser into both mounting elements by approx. 4 cm and thereby obtain an additional 8-10% of the load capacity of the shelf, i.e. 44 kg instead of the declared 40 kg. It is the weakest point of the entire structure. Conclusion: Despite two minor reservations, see above, I rate this shelf as very practical and overall very decently designed. Have a nice day! R.
