I bought this charger here in the shop about 2 years ago to support the car battery when doing coding work. This worked well at first! After successful work, I put the charger in the original box and didn't use it until recently. When I wanted to use it again, there was no more current flowing through the pole terminals and the ampere display stopped flashing. After unscrewing the device, I discovered that the transformer was unfortunately the major weak point. It doesn't have copper but an aluminum wire. That might work most of the time. However, with a current flow of around 6 to 8 amps over a period of a few hours, so much heat built up in the cables and the crimped plugs to the rectifier that the fabric insulation turned black. Over time, oxidation developed between the wire with the crimped connector and the wire, preventing current flow. Since I didn't have the plug size for the rectifier, I wanted to solder the wire to the rectifier, where I discovered that it was made of aluminum. I then bent an eyelet and then screwed the wire to the rectifier. A visual check of the other crimp connections to the switches in the front didn't give a much better picture. Unfortunately, a very annoying flaw in an otherwise powerful device. Today I would probably pay more attention to such a detail and spend a little more money! The charger now works well again after the repair!

The charger works great for normal use. I then wanted to charge a 260 Ah battery from a solar system. That was too much. What I like best is the color and the slanted control panel.

exactly as described - had a Trekker battery 12 V 120 Ah that was weak on the chest - freshly charged - Trekker was running ;-))

I have used the charger several times in 12V mode so far. When charging almost empty batteries, the charging current is sometimes very high at the beginning and cannot be reduced. But that is not the case with these LGs either. The batteries were charged quickly without the device noticeably heating up.
