How to make chocolate from cocoa?

Cocoa is the basic ingredient of any chocolate. It is indispensable in both homemade and mass-produced confectionery. Dark cocoa is usually recommended for making your own chocolate. You can find many recipes on the Internet, but are going to show you one of the simplest and most popular suggestions. How to make chocolate from cocoa?

You will need:

If you want to spice up your chocolate with nuts or dried fruits, remember that you can add your favourite additions to the above list, for example raisins, cranberries, crushed nuts or almonds.

Preparation:

  1. Boil a glass of milk in a small saucepan. Add 100g of butter and stir until melted.
  2. Pour in 2/3 of a cup of sugar and 3 or 4 tablespoons of cocoa. Stir until a dark brown liquid with a smooth consistency is formed.
  3. Pour it into a bowl and add 200g of powdered milk and blend until there are no lumps. Then add any nuts or other chosen additives.
  4. Put the ready mass into a flat mould and put it in the fridge. Wait for it to set, and then cut it into bars.

How to make chocolate without powdered milk?

Homemade chocolate lovers don’t always want to use powdered milk in their recipe. Although many chocolate connoisseurs believe that chocolate is not the same without it, it also has many followers, especially among vegans. How to make chocolate without powdered milk?

You will need:

Preparation:

  1. Mix the cocoa with the sugar. Pour in the melted coconut oil and mix thoroughly until a smooth consistency is obtained.
  2. Put the mass into moulds, and then leave it in the freezer for 1 hour.

Before pouring the mass into the molds, you can add dried fruit or any other chosen additive.

What can you add to chocolate to make it liquid?

The above methods are for making chocolate bars, both the traditional way and without the addition of powdered milk. But this is not the only form, because liquid chocolate added to various desserts, for example cakes, tastes just as good, especially on cold winter days.

To obtain a liquid consistency, the chocolate first needs to be melted. Professional equipment for melting chocolate would be ideal here, but a water bath using a bowl will also do at home. Simply place the dish with chocolate over boiling water and wait for the contents to melt.

If you want solid chocolate, but a bit softer than usual, then add a bit of milk or oil. Gelatine will also do the trick. The easiest way to prepare a healthy chocolate topping is a two-ingredient mixture of cocoa and water. Combine them in a proportion of 1:2 and heat them over a low heat, stirring constantly until it reaches the boil and achieves a uniform consistency without lumps. Since we’re on the topic of melting chocolate, you might as well get started! All you need are a saucepan and a bowl.

What can chocolate be used for?

Chocolate will make every party more fun. And not only for children, but for all chocolate fans, children and adults alike. If served in a creative way, it can really become an attraction in itself, and is a good idea not only for weddings, but any high-profile event you are organising.

A chocolate fondue will always go down well. The hot, sweet and smooth consistency is perfect for enjoying fruit, but also other ingredients. It all depends on what you and your guests enjoy most. It is worth remembering that the origins of fondue are a savoury version with melted cheese, which goes very well with bread.

Although a fondue with high-quality chocolate is delicious, it doesn’t look as good as a chocolate fountain. Chocolate streaming down from several levels is a mouth-watering view for many. Dipping sticks with fruit in the smooth, milky chocolate is not only a great snack, but also great fun, especially for children.

If it’s not only the taste of chocolate you are after, but you also want something hot, drinking chocolate will be the perfect solution for you. After all, hardly anything makes you feel better on long winter evenings than a cup of hot chocolate, for example with whipped cream. You could go to a café equipped with hot chocolate dispensers, serving fresh hot chocolate at the right temperature, regularly mixed. But what about making drinking chocolate in your own kitchen? All you need is a bar of chocolate and some whipping cream. The first ingredient should be slowly melted in the cream, mixing carefully so that it does not curdle. You can add a bit of vanilla, cinnamon or even chilli to the finished drink.

Homemade chocolate – dessert, drink and decoration

Chocolate prepared in many different ways is a treat for people all over the world. Whether you want to prepare it according to your own home recipe or use a ready-to-cook fondue version, the outcome will definitely be a delight. An interesting alternative or addition to a fondue are fruits in chocolate, spectacularly doused under a fountain. One thing is certain: regardless of the method you use, the end result will be to die for!
