The STUD TORCH-4M stud welding gun from Stamos Germany is ideal for thin sheets from 0.5 mm, whereby the thickness of the sheet should be at least 1/10 of the stud diameter. It fulfills its purpose in particular in the electrical industry, in laboratory or insulation technology, in housing or control cabinet construction or in other areas in which thin sheet metal is used as a workpiece.
In addition to a stud welder, you need a professional welding gun to weld studs to metal. With the STUD TORCH-4M stud welding gun, you can weld studs quickly and precisely, even on thin metals.
The welding gun is equipped with a 4 m cable, so you always have enough freedom of movement when welding the studs. The welding torch is designed for the CD tip ignition welding method. To do this, the firing tip of the stud is placed on the workpiece, the current rises rapidly and melts the firing tip and the workpiece directly under the stud. The arc is extinguished by light pressure and both parts are firmly connected to each other.
The welding pressure can be continuously adjusted on the welding gun. Three cylindrical pins on the head of the welding gun ensure that the stud is set precisely and vertically. Thanks to the short welding time of less than 3 ms, excellent welding results are achieved, leaving hardly any traces of welding such as discoloration or deformation. No clamps, flux, gases or other consumables are required for welding.
The welding area of the stud welding gun is designed for threaded studs or cylindrical pins with a size from M3 to M10 and a maximum length of 40 mm. The welding gun achieves a welding efficiency of 10 to 20 pieces/min. No preparatory work is required for stud welding. Thanks to clean results with minimal distortion and discoloration, you are spared post-treatments. The welding method is suitable for steel, aluminium, copper, titanium and brass; dissimilar metals can also be welded together.
